Dr. Dittman graduated cum laude from veterinary school at Texas A&M University, came to work as Dr. Rangel’s first associate at Altas Palmas Animal Clinic in 1985, loved it, and has been here ever since. She developed an interest in treating exotic pets (birds, rabbits, ferrets, reptiles, and other pocket pets) after serving as the first student extern at Gladys Porter Zoo while still a senior veterinary student. The variety of treating, both medically and surgically, dogs, cats, and small exotic pets at our animal hospital continues to keep veterinary medicine fresh for her, even after over 30 years of practice. Her other passions are her family (husband, Mark, son, Matt, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a parrot) and working to prevent child abuse. Dr. Dittman currently serves as a lay reader at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Harlingen and was past president of both the Texas chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America and the Shaken Baby Alliance. She looks forward to treating all of your furry, feathered, or scaled pets!
